Cleanroom for laser plastic welding
LaserMicronics expands production spectrum
Here LaserMicronics offers conventional welds with high hygiene requirements, but also relies on innovative technologies. A special feature is the clear-clear welding process. The ClearJoining technology combines similar transparent joining partners without additives. For this, a special laser welding system with a new clamping technology and a laser with a specific wavelength is used.
Roland Lindenberger, head of the branch in Fuerth confirmed the great interest: Just a few days after installation of the laser systems the production of batch components started.
Cleanroom ISO Class 5
The LaserMicronics clean room meets the requirements of ISO class 5 according to cGMP standards. This ISO class allows max. 100 particles of max. 0.5 microns diameter per cubic foot to be included in the air (3.5 particles per liter). The two production cells are equipped with separate goods receipt / exit gates. In cleanroom a slight overpressure continuously prevails. The entire exhaust air from the installed laser systems is filtered and blown outside the clean area. A lock with protective clothing ensures that no contamination happens from outside. In addition, the workplaces are equipped with laminar flow units, to further reduce the number of airborne particles in the environment of sensitive microfluidics.
Depending on cycle time and size, 2 - 4 million parts per year can be manufactured in the new clean room.
