Investments promote growth

These investments have borne fruit: after moving into new, larger production buildings, and expanding its machine pool, LaserMicronics reports a rise in turnover of approx. ten per cent compared to the first six months of the previous year. The specialist company for micromachining and material processing with lasers now has over 25 employees at its headquarters in Garbsen and the branch in Erlangen (Laser Plastic Welding).
“The new premises create space for further growth, and the investment in new systems and production facilities expand the product range,” explains Managing Director Lars Ederleh. He refers amongst other things to a new metallization line set up in 2010 and specially designed to satisfy the demands of 3D-MID technology. In addition, a laser has also been commissioned to manufacture ultra-fine metal components using a more powerful laser source, as well as a specially designed one-off system for laser plastic welding with integrated quality monitoring.

Ederleh is not only satisfied with the job-shop production sales: the revenues generated by the engineers and physicists during process evaluation and optimization have also risen considerably. “Our employees have such a wealth of experience with laser technology that in very many cases they can work together with the clients to successfully configure particularly economical processes.” The consulting segment will also benefit from further expansion in the future.
